Frank Hromas M.D.is an Assistant
Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
in the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
He was the Clerkship Director and currently the Continuity
Clinic Director. Dr. Hromas is currently working part
time at the School of Medicine.
Dr. Hromas received his B.S. in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He worked
as a chemical engineer and manager with Exxon Chemical
in Houston for many years, before returning to study
medicine. He also received his law degree from the University
of Houston School of Law, and his M.D. from Texas Tech
University School of Medicine. He completed his residency
in Family Medicine at the Texas Tech Department of Family
Medicine in Amarillo.
Dr. Hromas is a member of the American
Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Academy of Family
Physicians, the Texas Medical Association, and the Potter-Randall
County Medical Society. He is certified by the American
Board of Family Medicine.
Among the honors he has received are:
Texas Academy of Family Physicians Essay Award, Don
and Sybil Harrington Foundation Scholarship. |

Marichu M.Balmes,
M.D. was an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University
Health Sciences Center in the Department of Family and
Community Medicine serving as the Clerkship Director
and Associate Clerkship Director prior to her private
practice.
She received her Bachelor of Science
degree from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1982
and her Doctor of Medicine degree from De La Salle University
Medical School in the Philippines in 1987. Dr. Balmes
completed her residency training in family medicine
at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo
in 1997, and is certified by the American Board of Family
Medicine.
Dr. Balmes has practiced in both private
practice and occupational medicine settings in addition
to her experience as teaching faculty. Her current interest
is Preventive Medicine. She is a member of the American
Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Academy of Family
Physicians, Society of Teachers of Family Medicine,
American Balint Society, the Texas Medical Association
and the Potter-Randall County Medical Society. She has
received numerous honors and awards including the Barton
Freeman, M.D. Memorial Faculty Award, Texans Caring
for Texans state public service award, Resident Teacher
Award, Residents Choice Award and Outstanding Intern
at Texas Tech Family Medicine. |

Chris Thomas
has over 19 years of experience as a physician assistant.
She received her initial degree from the Northwest Texas
Hospital School of Nursing, and subsequently received
her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree, with honors,
from West Texas A&M University. She is also a graduate
of the University of North Dakota Family Medicine Physician
Assistance program.
Chris is a member of the National Commission
on Certification of Physician Assistants and the American
Academy of Physician Assistants.
In her position as a Physician Assistant,
Chris provides a broad range of health care services
including diagnosis and treatment of illnesses under
the supervision of a physician. She also performs physical
exams, diagnosis of illness, develops and implements
treatment plans, orders and interprets lab tests and
provides preventive health care counseling. She is also
a key component of our nursing home practice at Craig
Methodist Retirement Community, and a frequent preceptor
for Physician Assistant students on clinical rotations.
Her current interest is Preventive Medicine for the
entire family. |

Carol has been
an LVN for 15 years. She graduated with the degree in
nursing at Frank Phillips College. Prior to this she
attended Pampa College of Hairdressing and was a cosmetologist
since 1975.
She previously worked at Texas Tech Department
of Family and Community Medicine. She was involved in
patient education and counseling. She assisted with
resident physician issues and their patient management.
Among the honors she received are: Phi
Theta Kappa, Outstanding Student Award in Microbiology
and Florence Nightingale Award.
Currently, she continues to provide nursing
care and continues to be our patient educator. As a
skin care specialist, she performs skin analysis, skin
typing assessments and facials. |

Gaye Lynn has
been an RN for 27 years. For the last 17 years, she
has practiced in Oncology. She worked at Harrington
Cancer Center in Radiation Oncology in Amarillo, St.
Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Radiation Therapy/
Medical Oncology in NW Arkansas. In 2004 she started
an out reach medical oncology clinic in conjunction
with Arrington Cancer Center in Plainview, TX.
Gaye Lynn has had her Oncology Certification
since 1994. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Health
Administration from Warren National University in Wyoming.
She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, President
of the Hale County American Cancer Society Board, and
a member of the County Health Department Board of Directors.
She received the Cancer Care Giver Award in 2006.
Her current focus of interest is Medical
Aesthetics. She completed an added certification in
Medical Aesthetics from the Dallas Center for Advanced
Medical Aesthetics. She provides individualized skin
care treatments. Based on your skin care assessment
and requirements, she will recommend a skin care regimen
to improve and maintain healthy skin.
